I’ve visited this restaurant three times because I genuinely love the atmosphere. It’s a stylish and cozy Asian fusion restaurant that makes a great spot for a date night. The food is good overall, and I enjoyed most of the dishes I tried. That said, I felt the side dishes were a little underwhelming compared to the main courses. By my third visit, I had already tried almost everything on the menu—haha! I do wish they offered a few more seasonal or rotating dishes. The staff were polite and welcoming, but the service didn’t leave a particularly memorable impression. It was good, just not exceptional. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice date spot. The ambiance is the highlight and is the main reason I keep coming back.

More and more Korean-inspired or Korean-fusion restaurants have been flourishing in town and Hojokban wasn’t an exception. Such a cute and spacious spot that probably you wouldn’t tell carry Korean dishes just from the look. As it’s tapas style, the dishes were meant for sharing and IMO the portion was decent enough for 3-4 people; obv depending on your appetite. When in doubt like us, just order what you thought right then went for more if you’re not feeling full as they’re relatively quick in getting the orders ready. Truffle Potato Jeon 6/10 Ramyeon Fried Rice 7/10 Charcoal Grilled Chicken 8/10 From those we got, I was just okay with the first two. The Truffle Potato Jeon had very subtle truffle aroma for my palate and was just like simple rosti so fine to skip. Ramyeon Fried Rice tasted pretty decent and not overly spicy, serving that familiar shin ramyeon flavor with their house twist. Must-have for me would be the Charcoal Grilled Chicken. Tasty seasoning and well-cooked chicken, complemented by the fresh side veggies and mozzarella dipping. A great new spot in the arts district! Food was amazing, the servers were so kind and attentive, and everything came out quickly. The ramen fried rice lives up to the hype! It’s so good! And the kalbi was so soft and flavorful. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order here. We will definitely be back to try more items! I love the melona dessert at the end too!

Self described as modern Korean food. There isn’t much on the food menu, but they are all done very well. They offer a wide variety of drinks and cocktails. The buckwheat noodles were tasty for such a simple dish although not as chewy as is traditionally served. The pork belly texture was amazing, I just wish it was served with something to wrap it in. The Galbi was perfectly cooked medium rare, but it was on the sweeter side and a bit pricey. Service was amazing. They’re located on the south side of 3rd Street. I walked over, but there’s street parking.

Absolutely loved my experience at Hojokban. From the moment you walk in, the interior really stands out—Korean-inspired but modern and fancy, with a vibe that immediately makes you excited to eat here. The menu has a great variety, and everything we tried was delicious. The salmon rice bowl was super fresh, and the yukhoe was a standout. There’s a sauce underneath the yukhoe that ties everything together, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. But honestly, the cucumber muchim was insane. I liked it so much that I ordered a second one. It was even better than what I’ve had at many Korean restaurants. The cocktails were also a pleasant surprise—nutty, well-balanced, and totally unique. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.
